The Visitor Segmentation setting is meant to give you more control over what kind of customer sees which product list in order to maximize conversions.
By default, active product lists are shown to all visitors. To change this you need to go to the Advanced Product Lists page by clicking on Product Lists >Advanced Product Listsin the menu.
On the product list view/edit page, click on the Visitor Segmentation link in the Display section.
This will allow you to pick one or more of the options for Targeted visitors based on their interaction with your shop. You can target New visitors (visitors that have just discovered your shop now), Returning visitors (visitors that have known your shop for a while but didn’t yet purchase) or Returning buyers (visitors that have already bought something from your shop)
That’s it! Now you can create separate product lists for each visitor type or a combination of them.
